Hangji Village sees good rural tourism trend

27 tourists from Shanghai, Shandong, Guangdong and other places visited Miao villages, strolled in tea gardens and appreciated ancient trees in Hangji Village, Lyudongshan Town, Xiangxi Prefecture on March 23.

This is a microcosm of the vigorous development of rural tourism in Hangji Village in recent years, constantly attracting tourists from other places to come here for sightseeing with its own charm.


 
There are over 600 well-preserved wooden houses in Hangji Village. The village enjoys a superior location known as the “Nine Dragons Seizing Treasures” (nine mountain ridges facing a terrace in the village) and is a wonderful attraction situating in the mountains of Xiangxi.

In recent years, with the support of local governments, relying on its own advantages, the village has vigorously developed rural tourism, and promoted integrated development of tea and tourism.


 
One tea house, one embroidery house, and one observation building has been built next to the tea-horse ancient road, with a walking path of over 1,000 meters. It has planted over 10,000 green trees such as red maple, ginkgo, osmathus, and willow, and developed more than 6,000 mu (400 hectares) of Baojing Golden Tea gardens. There are now 12 professional tea cooperatives, 3 e-commerce platforms, 2 farmhouses and 1 homestay inn in the village.

At the same time, the village has improved infrastructure such as basketball courts, cultural squares, and leisure corridors, and actively held various of activities like “Village BA” Event, and Village Tea-making Competition.

With the publicity of newspapers, Douyin and other platforms, tourists from Shanxi, Beijing, Shenzhen and other places have come here, and the village’s rural tourism has gradually shown a good development trend.
